Rolihlahla Mandela was born on the 18
of July 1918. He was born into the Madiba clan in Mvezo. Rolihlahla’s father
died when he was young. Rolihlahla attended primary school in Qunu. His teacher
Miss Mdingane had given him the name Nelson because he had to have a name that
was Christian and that his teacher could pronounce.
